Allah Created in Six Days

“Allah…created the heavens and the earth in six days.”

Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim

Assalamu’ Aleikum!

Assalamu ‘aliekum! Dear readers, we take up a subject that is among the most dear to my heart: Creation. In our world today we see the sinful effects of the most deplorable teaching of the doctrine of “evolution,” also known as “evilution.” It teaches that all living things, including mankind, “evolved” from a lower, very primitive form of life through a random process taking billions of years. It denies the Creator Allah as the One who created all things fully formed in six days. Allah is ignored—left out! Men’s reasoning has clearly been heavily influenced by Iblis (Satan).

Even among those claiming to believe the Holy Books, misleading ideas are being embraced. Some claim, for example, that it took Allah millions of years to create what we now see upon planet earth! However, both the Holy Books and the Honored Qur’an tell us that Allah created the world in which we live-- including our sun, moon and stars-- in six literal days-- not millions or billions of years. Whom do you believe, dear reader?

Seven Golden Verses

Seven golden verses from the Honored Qur’an teach us that the world was created in six days-- not millions of years. Here they are, for your very own to read in Yusef Ali’s English translation:

    1. “Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o’er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His Command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds!” Sura 7.54 Al-Araf.

    2. “Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (Hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not receive admonition?” Sura 10.3 Yunus.

    3. “He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days-- and His Throne was over the Waters-- that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. But if thou wert to say to them, ‘Ye shall indeed be raised up after death,’ the Unbelievers would be sure to say, ‘This is nothing but obvious sorcery!’” Sura 11.7 Hud.

    4. “He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between, in six days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): Allah Most Gracious: ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted (with such things).” Sura 25.59 Al-Furqan.

    5. “It is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all between them, in six Days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): ye have none, besides Him, to protect or intercede (for you): will ye not then receive admonition?” Sura 32.4 As-Sajda.

    6. “We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us.” Sura 50.38 Qaf .

    7. “He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority)….” Sura 57.4 Al-Hadid.

These seven verses or ayats reveal how Allah created the world in exactly six days. Each of these days were twenty-four hours in length. It was not at all impossible for Allah to do this; He alone is all-powerful. He needs only to speak a word and it is done. Who among men can do that? From the Zabur Psalms, many of which Daud wrote, we have this text: “For he [Allah] spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” Psalms 33:9. Allah needs only to speak and it appears.

The Holy Books Tell the Story of Creation

The entire account of the creation of Earth is carefully recorded for us in the Holy Books of the Bible, primarily in the first chapter of Taurat Genesis. In fact, the very first verse in the Bible is about creation: “In the beginning God [Allah] created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.

Taurat Genesis 1:3-5 names the first thing created: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

Thus ended the first day of creation. That “day” the Taurat calls “the evening and the morning.” According to Allah’s time-reckoning, a day begins in the evening at sunset (night) and continues the next day until sunset, when the next 24-hour day begins.

More creation was to come: Genesis 1:6-8 states, “And God [Allah] said, Let there be a firmament [expanse or dome] in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”

Genesis 1:9-13 records the third day’s creation: “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.  And the evening and the morning were the third day.”

The fourth day is covered in Genesis 1:14-19: “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” So upon the completion of the fourth day, Allah had made the sun, moon and stars to give light by day and by night.

Genesis 1:20-23 records the fifth day: “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good…. God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.”

On the sixth and final day of creating, Allah did something very unique. He created man in His own image. Genesis 1:24-31 says, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth…. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

How Allah Ended His Creation Week

Allah ended His Creation week by “resting” from creating— but in no way was He weary and needing rest. Although He did not bring any more physical things into existence, He did do something with time. He blessed a certain time period! Taurat Genesis 2:1-3 explains: “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day [Saturday or Sabt] God [Allah] ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God [Allah] blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God [Allah] created and made.”

Allah, by His own example, set the seventh day apart from other days by resting on it and blessing it.  Starting with Adam and Eve, that special day was to become a day upon which all creation would come together to honor and cherish the Creator. By observing this day each week, man would always remember that His Creator created him within the first six days; he did not evolve over millions of years.

Had man always remembered the seventh-day Sabbath (Sabt) by honoring it, he would never have embraced the idea of evolution. However, as man has forgotten that day, he has gone far astray from the right course. Today most of mankind is out of harmony with Allah. Even among those who profess to believe, this sacred day that Allah has set aside for Holy use is totally ignored

In Moses’ lifetime, Allah spoke from the towering heights of Sinai to all, admonishing us to “remember” and observe the Sabbath (Sabt or Saturday), which was to be a blessing for all mankind forever. He said, “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”  Taurat Exodus 20:8-11.
