If scholars lead their flocks astray, will only these false shepherds pay?”

Bismila-Hir Rahma-Nir Rahim Assalamu’ alaikum!

Dear reader, I greet you in the name of Allah, the most compassionate and merciful! May His peace truly be upon thee, may this be a reality. May you be blessed by Allah to inherit the ìeternal home; with companions pure and holy”. Sura 3:15 Aal-E-Imran

How it all began…

“Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been…” Sura 2:36 Al-Baqara

Faulty leaders abound ever since Iblis (Satan) fell from Heaven. He was a leader in Heaven and under his influence many angels went astray. “How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer…” Isaiah 14:12. Isa said, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from Heaven.” Luke 10:18. These fallen angels then became involved with the great rebellion in heaven. They were expelled from heaven and came to this earth and in Eden the garden of bliss, our first parents also fell under Iblis’ deceptions.

Today Iblis (Satan) and his fallen angels, target the leaders of the people. If he can sway the leaders into his camp, then he also has the people who are followers. Thus many leaders even unknowingly are following Iblis’ deceptions. So the special target of Iblis are those who are looked upon as leaders. If he can lead the leaders astray, the sheep will all too often obey! Now for that most important question?

Who is leading you?

We live in a world where religious people willingly allow themselves to be led by their leaders. These leaders may be educators and scholars even respected persons. Often these leaders are well meaning but are not seeking direction from Allah. So, how is one to seek direction? The best way is to spend time in private prayer (du’a) and plead with Him who knows all. Allah will reveal to us His secrets if we take the time to ask and then to listen for His voice.

Thousands upon thousands, yes even millions, do no more than listen and act upon what their leaders tell them to do and say. These leaders become the mind and thought of far too many. Should not people who were made by Allah, look to Him first, rather than leaders? Far too often the leaders will lead men astray. This has been the history ever since the beginning of time, instead of each soul inquiring from Allah, they will take the words of leaders and not even question what is being told them.

Who is your Guide?

Friends of Allah, now is the time to earnestly plead with Allah for light and direction. Men long ago even since the days of Ibrahim have had to do the same. Notice Ibrahim himself, was given direction from Allah, while his relatives around him worshipped idols. Notice how Ibrahim pleads with his own father who was a leader. “Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: “Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error.” Sura 6:74 Al-Anaam

Had Ibrahim simply followed his own father, and the scholars of his day or his own relatives, he would also have followed their error. Ibrahim was different, he asked Allah for guidance, and we can do the same. “…whosoever follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery.” Sura 20:123 Ta-Ha

However if we choose to follow even well meaning leaders and scholars even though they appear very intelligent, yet if these lead away from the will of Allah we may be sure that these will lose their way unless they change their course.

However it is not only the misleading scholars and educators who will suffer but notice what the Injeel says…

“Let them [Religious Leaders] alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” Injeel Matthew 15:14

Very clearly it tells us that both false leaders and those whom are led by them will fall into the ditch. Paul in the Injeel clearly tells us that if we follow false leaders we will also be lead astray from the straight path. Injeel 1 Timothy 6:5 from such we are told to: “from such withdraw thyself…” this is strong language indeed!

“And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. Isaiah 24:2 Isaiah

The prophet sent from Allah for Israel clearly told the people that it was the leaders who caused Israel to err. Leaders are more responsible than others as they are looked up to by the people. Therefore it is very important that leaders carefully and prayerfully request from Allah to know the right way. Allah will teach us, and He will guide all those who earnestly ask for guidance. Is this dear reader something which you do daily? If not, you may be like many thousands who simply go on in the dark and in error down a wrong path. No matter how brilliant a scholar may appear, nor how wise a man may be if he is teaching and living contrary to what is in Sura 3:3 Aal-E-Imran that the Taurat and Injeel is the “criterion of judgment between right and wrong.” These false scholars will forfeit eternity.

“…He [Allah] sent down the Law of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion of judgment between right and wrong.” Sura 3:3 Aal-E-Imran

Where are you looking for guidance dear friend of Allah. Do you heed this counsel from the Qur’an? Are you indeed looking at the Taurat and Injeel as guidance and criterion of judgment? Or are you listening to the scholars who are telling thousands that the Taurat and Injeel is falsified or corrupted? Listen dear friend of Allah, Allah knows how to keep His Word in tact from wicked minds and is powerful enough to keep anyone from spoiling His Word which He sent down through Moses and Isa al-Masih. “The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words…” Sura 6:115 Al-Anaam

The Law of Allah

Very clearly the Law of Allah was mercifully given to Moses on the Mount, and written upon two tables of stone with the finger of Allah. Notice the words from the Honored Qur’an regarding the sacred laws of Allah!

“And We ordained laws for him in the tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things, and said: “Take and hold these with firmness, and enjoin thy people to hold fast by the best in the precepts…” Sura 7:145 Al-Araf

Friend are you holding these laws with firmness? These laws are the Ten Commandments of Allah.

How true today as it was in the days of Isaiah…it is the leaders which cause the people to err. Now is the time to receive direction from the Taurat and Injeel. Seek one for yourself and before opening it’s sacred pages ask Allah for guidance and that He will lead you to that which is most needed.

“For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.” Taurat Isaiah 9:16

Remember the Taurat came first from the hand of Allah to Moses. In the same way that the first born in the family is considered the most important, so that which came first from the hand of Allah we may not set aside as unimportant. But everything which is brought to us needs to be tested by the “criterion” which was sent down.

“The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.” 1 Corinthians 14:32. This simply means that later prophets are subject to the writings of the former prophets of God. “And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion Between right and wrong.” Sura 2:53 Al-Baqara

Begin Now

How vital it is to begin now! Now is the time to begin asking Allah for guidance. He is no different now than in by gone days when holy men sought direction from Him. He is just as eager now to listen to your prayers as when Ibrahim walked and talked with Him while on this earth! But we must ask in sincerity! “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls…” Taurat Jeremiah 6:16

“The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way” Zabur Psalms 25:9

Our constant cry ought to be…
“Show us the straight way” Sura 1:6 Al-Fatiha
